SUN VALLEY FOR THE PERFECT GOLF VACATION
PARADISE FOUND: In 1935, Count Felix Schaffgitsch was hired by Averell Harriman to locate the perfect spot for a grand American resort. After one look at Sun Valley he wired Harriman saying: "This area combines more delightful features than I have ever seen in the U.S., Switzerland or Austria".
Since opening in 1936, Sun Valley has attracted everyone from European Nobility to all American families. What keeps them coming back? Well the sun really does shine a lot, even in winter.
Sun Valley is a 3,000 acre resort nestled in a valley and framed by three majestic mountain ranges where fishing, white-water rafting, hiking and golf are a way of life. Fields of wildflowers, horses and sheep add to this alpine setting.
Adjacent to the resort is the historic town of Ketchum, where its most famous resident Ernest Hemingway, lived in his later years. Ketchum is a wonderful walking town with many shops and fine restaurants to visit.
SUN VALLEY LODGE
Sun Valley received the #1 rating for excellence in lodging facilities from Conde' Nast. The Lodge is a historic landmark that combines old world charm with luxury and impeccable service.
Lodge rooms feature French country interiors and furnishings, marble appointed bathrooms, large-screen televisions, refrigerators, internet service, coffee, USA Today, and choice of king or double queens.
The Lodge features a beauty salon, three restaurants, a lounge with entertainment, massage center, heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna, game room, bowling alley, tennis courts and gift shop. On the property is the Sun Valley Village, an open air promenade featuring speciality shops, restaurants and a movie theater.
The setting of the lodge is imcomparable, with views of the mountains and valley. A major attraction of the lodge is the outdoor ice skating arena with its ever-popular Saturday Night Ice Show and Buffet. The show features champion skaters, the buffet is delicious and there is live music to compliment the evening on the outside Lodge Terrace dining area.

SUN VALLEY TRAIL CREEK GOLF COURSE
Sun Valley was most recently recognized by GOLF DIGEST as one of the top 75 resort courses in North America. Sun Valley's signature course, Trail Creek, promises to provide a challenging round of golf for every level of player. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the Sun Valley course winds its way along the waters of Trail Creek and explores both natural and man-made wonders. This beautiful layout is a joy to play for all skill levels.
Sun Valley White Clouds Course
When standing atop the White Clouds, your eye captures a 360-degree wrap-around view of the Wood River Valley encompassing Bald Mountain, Dollar Mountain, the Pioneer Mountains, Angel's Perch, Devil's Bedstead and the home of Ernest Hemingway. The White Clouds at once becomes a mysterious challenge full of intrigue and complements the Trail Creek Course.
The Elkhorn Resort Course
The Elkhorn Resort course is also a Robert Trent Jr. design sitting at a 6,000 foot elevation making mountain vistas available from nearly every hole. The course gains difficulty from its length (eased somewhat by the mile-high elevation) and daunting array of sand and water hazards. It's a fun course that requires patience and accuracy.

Trip Itinerary
August 1: Check-in to the Sun Valley Lodge and join us for cocktails and dinner.
August 2: Enjoy breakfast off the menu in Gretchen's. We will play the Sun Valley course followed by hors d'oeurves in the club house.
August 3: Today is open for you to explore the Resort property, the town of Ketchum or join in on one of the many activities the area has to offer.
August 4: Enjoy breakfast then you are off to a round at the nearby Elkhorn Resort Course. Join us tonight on the Terrace at Sun Valley to feast on their sumptuous buffet and watch the incredible ice show. August 5: Have a leisurely breakfast and take a scenic drive along the Sawtooth Scenic Byway or visit the nearby town of Haily.
August 6: We return to the Sun Valley Course today. Enjoy our awards cocktail party and dinner this evening.
August 7: Have a leisurely breakfast before heading home.
